DAVY KNOWLES
Sunday May 12th
Whether playing acoustic, mandolin, national steel, or screaming electric guitar, Davy Knowles has an unmistakable style.
Since bursting on to the scene with his band Back Door Slam’s critically acclaimed album ‘Roll Away’ in 2007 Davy’s star has only risen.
With several top-5 Billboard Blues charting albums under his belt, high profile TV appearances (Jimmy Kimmel Live and CBS Good Morning America among others), and praised with high accolades from heroes and press alike Knowles was also the very first artist in history to perform live to the International Space Station directly from mission control in Houston TX.
Never one to be satisfied or to sit still, Knowles has explored multiple genres and styles, from the hard-hitting 70’s classic rock influenced album ‘Three Miles From Avalon’, to the haunting acoustic delta blues of ‘1932’, and the sweet, soul-searching folk of 2023’s ‘If I Should Wander’.
Whether spending an evening onstage armed with just an acoustic guitar, or wielding his well worn and trusty Telecaster while fronting his blues/rock trio - and at any point in between the two - Davy Knowles is a versatile and formidable songwriter and musician.

Opening Act:
Jeffrey Gaines has been heralded for his soul-searching lyrics and his
powerful live performances. With only his voice and a guitar for
accompaniment, Gaines has earned a reputation as a captivating
performer, entertaining his audiences worldwide.
Gaines has released eight albums internationally, which includes
gems like the hit single “Hero In Me” from his debut album. The
Boston Globe declared that “Gaines’ soulful, wounded vocals make a
case for him being one of pop’s finest singers…” Rolling Stone went
on to call him “the voice of a generation” noting his body of work and
his larger than life voice.
Jeffrey has toured the world headlining theaters and clubs, and was
named Pollstar’s Best Live Solo Artist. With compelling live
performances gaining high respect from peers, Gaines was asked to
join tours as Special Guest with Tom Petty &, The Heartbreakers in
Europe, Tracy Chapman, and Stevie Nicks with Sheryl Crow. Gaines’
critical acclaim, international tours and avid fan base have
established him as one of the most treasured songwriters, vocalists
and inspirations in music today.

More about Glenn: Glenn Phillips is a critically acclaimed guitarist and composer who’s released 20 albums over the past 50 years. Lowell George of Little Feat called him "the most amazing guitarist I've ever seen," and from Rolling Stone: "If rock & roll guitarists were kamikaze pilots, Glenn Phillips would be in heaven right now." As a founding member and songwriter of the Hampton Grease Band in the late '60s, he played with countless artists of the era including John Lennon, Frank Zappa, The Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, The Allman Brothers, and Jimi Hendrix (Phillips is a featured interviewee in the Hendrix documentary Electric Church). His first solo album, 1975's Lost at Sea, was recorded at home and self-released. It predated and influenced the do-it-yourself movement that later overtook rock music, and it led famed entrepreneur Richard Branson to sign Phillips to Virgin Records. In the years since, he's toured and recorded regularly with his own group and collaborated with artists as diverse as Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, Pete Buck of REM, and Cindy Wilson of the B-52s. The one constant throughout his career has been that his music has remained as unique as it is acclaimed. From Guitar Player, "A supremely musical player, Phillips has something few musicians attain: a voice of his own." And he recently released a highly praised memoir, Echoes: The Hampton Grease Band, My Life, My Music, and How I Stopped Having Panic Attacks, which David Fricke described in Mojo Magazine as "compelling and poignant." The version of the book available from this website comes with a new CD and DVD.
